Rise Now is a Northway Discover group that is focused on self-discovery and relationship building specifically around dismantling racism. This group grew out of the August Forum event in 2020 led by Rev. Dr. Irie Session and Sandyha Jha where we began this work together.
Through discussions on books, documentaries, articles, blogs, podcasts, movies, TV shows, etc, this group strives to unpack the ways that racism shows up in our own world and how to actively work against it.
Rise Now currently meets on Zoom Sunday evenings from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm and is reading Drew G. I. Hart’s book “Trouble I’ve Seen: Changing the Way the Church Views Racism”. For more information, please contact Pastor Megan Turner at megan.turner@northwaychristian.org
