Merry Mourning Grief Support Series

The goal of the Merry Mourning Grief Support group is to provide a safe place in a compassionate and caring space. This support group will be led by Rev. Dr. Regina Franklin, an experienced Grief and Loss professional and pastoral counselor. The class will meet in the church parlor from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on the following Saturdays:

February 14th
February 21
March 7th
March 14th
March 21st

While speaking and participation is not required, each participant is encouraged to share personal stories ad to receive encouragement, guidance and possible direction from the group and from the facilitator.

Seeking spiritual guidance through one’s grief journey is another essential goal for the group. There are a variety of topics we discuss, and with scripture references to follow. While this list is not comprehensive, some topics we cover are as followed:**

**Topics and group activities will vary based on the loss-experience of each person attending.

1. Loss-sharing
2. Goal setting
3. Journaling and with specific writing assignments
4. Scripture reflections
5. Understanding Family Systems Theory and how it affects relationships in response to grief
6. Gender Grief dynamics
7. Maintaining Bonds with the deceased
8. Holiday preparation in the absence of our beloved
