Rev. Virzola
Rev. Virzola Jo-Nan Law embodies sacred leadership in every facet of her life. As a woman, daughter, sister, and friend, she moves through the world with deep love and care, nurturing those around her with wisdom and grace. These personal connections inform her vocation as a pastor and public leader, where she champions justice, reconciliation, and radical hospitality.
Treasure and responsibility define her role as mother to Jasmin Williams and grandmother to Ava Jo-Nan Law Williams and Aiden Thomas Williams. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a beloved spiritual mother, auntie, and godmother to many, pouring into lives with compassion and mentorship. She finds joy in reading, traveling, being near water, and spending meaningful time with family and friends—spaces where she renews her spirit for the transformative work she carries out.
A prophetic voice and bold disruptor, Rev. Law is a bridge-builder who shapes communities with resilience, tension, and sacred chaos. She made history as the first woman and African American to serve as Senior Minister of Northway Christian Church in Dallas, Texas, leading a congregation rooted in ecumenical and interfaith movement-building for over 118 years. As Chair of the Board at Brite Divinity School, she continuously pushes institutions toward inclusion and transformation.
Rev. Law holds a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, OK, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, TX. She also completed graduate coursework at Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.
Rev. Law’s ministry thrives at the intersection of disruption and healing, calling communities to embrace the chaotic beauty of radical love. She has consistently shattered norms, first as the elected female and African American Senior Pastor of 171-year-old Lindenwood Christian Church in Memphis, Tennessee, and as a transformative leader of anti-racist faith communities at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. In every role—familial, pastoral, and public—Rev. Law’s life is a testimony to the power of faith, love, and justice moving together.
