Cara

The Rev. Cara Gilger is a writer and ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) who’s 15 year ministry has spanned from congregational ministry, to small group and campus ministries focusing on spiritual formation and congregational growth and connection. A recipient of the 2020 Louisville Institute’s Pastoral Study Program grant, Cara is exploring the intersection of grief and joy within the context of medical trauma in the study program. Cara is the editor of 99 Prayers Your Church Needs but Doesn’t Know It Yet as well as Prepare: An Advent Devotional.  She serves as a congregational consultant with two main focuses: spiritual formation and discipleship for the changing church and helping churches align their practices and structures with their vision for how God is calling them to serve their community. Rev. Gilger received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt University.
